Dealing with dog aggression issues can be stressful, frustrating, and scary. You may feel helpless to solve the issues, or even scared that your dog may bite. We can help you with a plan that will involve management, reviewing your dog’s activity and enrichment needs and incorporating positive reinforcement training behavior modification techniques.
Types of Behavior issues include:
- Aggression (growling, snapping, biting) people, other dogs or animals
- Over Arousal Reactivity (barking, lunging on leash)
- Destructive behaviors (chewing, digging, etc.)
- Shy or fearful behaviors (cowering, hiding, growling)
- Resource guarding issues (stiff posturing, growling over food bowl, furniture, or other items)
Each client and their dog are unique in their needs and goals and that is why we can not tell you exactly how many sessions it will take to change your dog’s behavior or resolve completely the behavior issue. Through our years of experience working with behavioral issues we have found the owner’s commitment to incorporate the recommended plan greatly increases a successful outcome.
We will instruct and demonstrate how to manage your dog safely while we work to replace the bad moments of behavior with good moments of behavior from your dog. We’ll start with a consultation to discuss the issues you’re experiencing and determine next steps.
Initial Behavioral Consult/Evaluation – 90 minutes – $299
Most behavior issues will require additional sessions. After the initial consult, we offer package options and will make a recommendation as to which would be appropriate for your situation and to achieve your training goals.
3 sessions $599
5 sessions $925
60 to 90 minutes per session
If you do not wish to purchase a package, the per hour rate is $215 + $50/15 min over the hour.
Achieving your goals:
While we work to modify existing problematic behavior, your involvement in the training process will be critical to your dog’s overall success. Training involves many technical skills that evolve with quality practice and repetition, much like learning to play an instrument. The aim of our sessions together are to give you the confidence and competence to train your dog and achieve your goals. Through demonstration and coaching, we’ll provide you with detailed information about how to apply each training technique, and explain how to avoid common training mistakes that may slow your dog’s progress and prevent lasting change in behavior.
Cancellation and rescheduling policy for all private appointments:
A $50 charge will be incurred for all cancelled appointments without 24-hour notice.
Some of our behavioral consultations and sessions may be conducted via remote, online sessions. We would meet via Zoom, a remote video chat service that does not require you to create an account. All you need is a computer with a webcam and microphone, or a smartphone. A recording of the session can be made available upon request. You might be thinking, “can I really get the help I need without having a trainer at my home?” The answer is yes! By meeting virtually, I am able to address your dog problems while keeping everyone safe and not causing additional stress for your dog.
